Client – Honda Manufacturing of Alabama, LLC’s facility in Lincoln, Alabama has the capacity to build more than 300,000 Odyssey minivans, Honda Pilot sport utility vehicles, and V-6 engines annually. This facility is Honda's largest light truck production source.
Siegel-Robert Automotive is North America’s largest manufacturer of chrome-plated plastic parts in the automotive industry. With major manufacturing plants located in the United States and China, Siegel-Robert supplies grilles, door handles, nameplates, and other trim products to almost every major automotive manufacturer in the world.
Problem - Honda Manufacturing of Alabama, LLC needed a highly efficient and cost-effective packaging solution to send parts to and from Siegel-Robert Automotive. The project required the use of a comprehensive rack system for the shipping of customized automotive parts throughout the Southeastern United States.
RPR Solution – RPR provided a “smarter” solution by creating a textile bag rack that doubled the density from 15 parts per rack to 30 parts in the original rack footprint. Honda Manufacturing of Alabama, LLC selected the RPR packaging system because no other company or competitor could achieve this density while maintaining the original rack footprint.
RPR saved Honda Manufacturing of Alabama, LLC thousands of dollars by reducing the number of trucks needed to ship the automotive parts and the number of racks needed to house or handle the operation and shipment of these parts.
RPR…A Smarter Way to Return!
